You know, I could sit here and blab on about how there are so many things I’d like to do in my life. So many things I’d like to try to see, and experience. But that doesn’t get me out there doing, seeing, or experiencing, does it?
I can pin for hours on my Pinterest boards all the exercises I want to do to get fit, or inspirational quotes that make me dream bigger, or homemade lotions I want to make, or crafts I want to try, but it doesn’t get any of them done, does it?
Blabbing and pinning get me nowhere.
And I want to go somewhere.
Don’t you?
So what are YOU waiting for?
Try something new today. And try something else next week. And the week after.
Maybe, this “achieving” thing will become a habit. Because when you try small things and succeed, sometimes the big things aren’t so scary. Baby steps…it’s how babies first learn to run. But you better believe those first little steps are pretty darn scary for that wee babe. But when she falls, she realizes it wasn’t so bad after all. She just gets back up and tries again.
And before you know it, she’s running.
And what better example for our children can there be? If we don’t sit and wait for life to happen, our children won’t sit and wait. They will be confident in themselves. Confident enough to take risks and try new things…even if that new thing is just an odd looking vegetable on their plates.
So I’m going to stop blabbing now and I’m going to pick one small, achievable thing off my pin boards that I want to try and I’m going to do it. Today.
Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for the essential opening words with image … and I’d like to make the time to read the new biography of our former President.
I needed this, Arlee!!! Thank you! π
Thanks for sharing. This surely is an inspiring piece for at this stage of my life when I am at cross-roads whether to continue job-seeking when my current contract comes to an end at the end of Feb or move on and try my hand at some of my life time dreams – a successful farmer and construction material provider – quarrying and brick making to be exact.
God bless.

This is an inspiring piece of writing for this early time of the year when you have plans but doubts and feelings of inadequacy may creep up to keep you from trying the depth of the river with booth legs.I came across on a blog that I follow. Hope those of you who follow my blog will find it inspiring too.
I was just about to blog the same thing!!! Thx for the inspiration π
You couldn’t have said it any better, but you definitely Encouraged so many TODAY. Great Post! http://projectsbyMtetar.wordpress.com

You’re welcome, Mtetar
Thank you so much for this post. I’ve been feeling the same sentiments lately, but have not been able to put them into words as well as you just did. I’m going to get my butt off the computer and out of the house and push myself a little harder today!
Yay!! You go, girl!! Have a great weekend π
This is great! I am intrigued…keep going!
thank you π
Love this post. I know now is the time to keep trying new things, but fear keeps holding me back. I needed to hear this.
Great post!
Inspiring! I’m teaching my kids to ‘go get it’. because if you don’t, someone else will. They are becoming master blaggers – just like their mother. X
Hi Arlee. I share your sentiment whole heartedly. I just did my first interview on Friday with Nick Ryan, director of The Summit film, for my blog http://www.inanirishhome.com. I was terrified! If it hadn’t been for my children {and how I’m always telling them to push past fear and try something} I’m not sure I would have had the courage to ask for and conduct the interview. In the end, Nick was gracious and generous with his time. I’m delighted with myself and so thankful to have tried something new. If you get a minute, check out my last few blog posts…I think you’ll see what I mean. All the best! Kim
i created a “pinned it and did it” board so that i can actually hold myself accountable for the good intentions i’ve pinned π
